Escaping the Friday night madness of the downstairs bars and up into the Anchor Room restaurant was much more pleasant.Food was good - a daily special lamb ragu and pasta for me - very good and a big serve, a rib eye fillet for my wife - cooked to perfection - not easy to rare side of medium rare to her satisfaction. It is in a central location. Pub is the best atmosphere. w fried halloumi, pomegranate & lemon vinaigrette, w subs, radish, shallot & sesame dressing, w red wine jus, cafe de paris butter & fries. Excellent food and service - love the ambience - great spot for lunch in North Sydney!

In short the meals were all good and the service was great except, one entree came out wrong and the waitress not only insisted that was what I ordered but wanted to argue about it. If the steaks had been OK one would then not be alert to other shortcomings.
