I shared the deconstructed banana, my only mistake of the night. Had a late arrival in Cairns and wasn’t terribly hungry but wanted something small. Be adventurous and you will be rewarded!! The octapus was minute and dry, the green vegetables tasted as though they were microwaved from frozen and were tastless and waterlogged. despite the miserable weather we enjoyed the great wines, game food, Nous y etions venus pour manger croco, wallabie et kangourou. Everything was excellent, so much so we booked again for our last night here. Had amazing food at Ochre last night the produce was cooked to perfection and the pairing of flavours with local Australian produce is one we won't forget, highly recommend this restaurant. The Australians are very friendly and wonderful hosts.

Can’t wait to go back.More. Good Australian wine list although It would be good to see more Queensland whites featured and fantastic frappe ‘cassowary’ cocktail with local tropical flavours. The twice cooked duck was dry, the rice on the side was dry with pan fried beans and it was drowned in some kind of tamarind sauce (I think to Help the dryness of the duck and rice).
