";s:4:"text";s:3291:" Lookers 4. drives the opening track, "Tellin' Lies," warning you not to fool yourself when the time comes to put to bed the fire of youth. Not a feat that happened magically overnight, through ambition and dedication, the teenage versions of Greg Barnett (vocals and guitar), Tom May (vocals and guitar), Eric Keen (bass), as well as Joe Godino (drums) took a farfetched dream and completely transformed their lives into a whirlwind of possibility. Creating killer music and positive vibes, through each record release and tour, the band only grew bigger and got better, making them a prime, successful, and definitely unique Punk Rock band. Album Rating: 4.5Album kills it, probably end up my AOTY, though i said that about Backstar till Rosenstock came out with his late year game changer. For me it has to be House on Fire. It's one of so many songs here that are catchy, anthemic, singalong bangers fit for fans who wanted more punk from The Gaslight Anthem. Purely passionate and emotionally energized, there is only one word that comes to mind when thinking about The Menzingers, and that is zeal. Anna Lyrics: I’ve memorized every single moment / Every fleeting passage of time / The way you’d laugh and dance in the kitchen / After drinking too much cheap red wine / I always rewind, the I meant to make a Weezer Blue Album comparison and your recommended just jogged me, i completely forgot to add it in my review.
A little over a decade into their career, Scranton, Pennsylvania’s very own Punk Rock quartet have become one of the hottest acts on their respective scene. First time I've reviewed a new release as a 5, also this is my longest review in years because this album deserves to be discussed to death
The verses of Thick as Thieves alone is bursting at the seams with both. Definitely a favorite, “Bad Catholics” is extremely catchy and was a perfect choice to release as a single to get their wide following absolutely hyped before the actual release of After The Party. I went into this record with absolutely no expectations, good or bad. Album Rating: 3.5wait this is better than On the Impossible Past? this is dangerously close to 5 territory for me too. Toy Soldier.
Totally bangin’, The Menzingers have outdone themselves with this wholly unique and impassioned record. Know they'll catch me by and by, but tonight you are my alibi. Fun, spunky, and completely catchy, this track sets the mood for the entirety of the album; “Where we gonna go now that our twenties are over?” Highlighting the best of The Menzingers, the guys are shining brighter than ever, even heading into their thirties.
