Went onto Middle Moat, which was also nice though not very different rom previous mountain. So beautiful and well marked! And in winter, again the elevation is moderate so as to be challenging without being extreme. Didn't see a soul until I started down and then the crowds started coming up the trail. Worth the hike. Hiked this 9/30/20 with my wife and dog. But my favorite time to hike this route is in the fall, when the trees in the Mt Washington River Valley and surrounding peaks are ablaze in autumn color. Many places along the traverse with 270 or 360 degree views, spectacular on a clear fall day. It’s a good early spring hike to do when the high peaks are still snow-covered but the lower elevation trails are starting to clear. Not a bad climb actually. Lots of blueberry bushes loaded with berries. First bit nice and moderate, then a fun slog to the summit. Two large front facing windows and one side window make this room light and airy and offer mountain views.

One or two places is steeper and rockier but these are relatively of short duration. Didn't cross over to Red Ridge -- can see it's not packed out like the Moat trail -- saw one set of deep foot-prints headed that way. würde ich auch empfehlen. Great hike and stunning views. Northern access is off West Side Road in the town of North Conway. Starts off with gentle grade and wide path with excellent footing. Challenging hike both ways.

We continued along trail toward Middle Moat. Anyways it's a lovely traverse either way. Diana's Baths parking fills up.
