We recognise that measures to improve the energy efficiency of new and existing fossil-fuel-based power plants are also important in reducing the carbon footprint. Recognising that each country will choose the mix of technologies most appropriate to its national circumstances, we are committed to accelerating the world-wide transition to low-carbon energy technologies and recognise that greater international co-operation is essential to achieve this goal.
