After struggling for a month in belly-deep snow, they were found so starved and weak that considerable care and feeding were needed to nurse them back to health. It is a long way down... We ended up walking across the dam from the closed visitor center to the other side to really get the ambiance of the dam. Even in the pouring rain, it's quite impressive.
