It took me a little time before I cared much about the characters, and although I did not love the book at the beginning, I did find myself enjoying it by the end. But that doesn't take away from the story in anyway. It was easy to get lost in it and follow the story. Impressive world-building, breathtaking action and clear philosophical concerns make this volume, the beginning of a planned... by You knew good would prevail and it does. I really enjoyed the sense of adventure and epic journey feeling.
